Teach For America teacher

Mayra Ureno is a second-year corps member teaching Pre-K in Miami. A 2009 graduate of the University of California-Berkeley, where she majored in ethnic studies and minored in education, Mayra plans to teach for a third year at the school where she teaches today. In the long run, Mayra hopes to work in education policy, to continue to work to expand educational opportunities for kids growing up in low-income communities.
