...Our company employs numerous veterans including FedEx founder and chairman, Frederick W. Smith, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Each year we participate in several events to support our troops. Since 2005, we’ve helped transport Christmas trees to our military as part of the Trees for Troops program. This election season, FedEx is proud to continue our partnership with the Overseas Vote Foundation to provide voter services for our military service members....

For the fourth year in a row, I put on my biking shoes and pedaled from Miami to Key West Florida. The beautiful weather and sandy beaches will not deter or distract me from reaching my goal.
SMART Ride 8, a FedEx sponsored event, is a two-day 165 mile South Florida bike ride that increases awareness, fights prejudice and improves education about HIV/AIDS. All pledges or 100 percent raised by participants support AIDS direct service organizations such as Broward House, Inc., Metropolitan Charities, Inc., Center for Positive Connections, AIDS Help, Miracle of Love and Comprehensive AIDS Program of Palm Beach County, Inc. The SMART Ride has raised more than three million U.S. dollars over eight years. This year, the SMART Ride rose over $675,724, representing a 40 percent increase over 2010.

...However, from the customer's perspective, I am pleased to let you know that the matter has been resolved in a very positive way. We have met with the customer face to face and they already have a replacement monitor at no cost to them. They have accepted our apology and say they are fully satisfied with what we've done in response to this unacceptable delivery. They've made it clear, though, that they prefer not to be identified in any way, and in this case as always with customers, we fully respect their privacy.
I know you recognize that this absolutely does NOT represent the professionalism and dedication of the 290,000 FedEx team members worldwide. It is one person and one package. While many people are publicly speculating about what will happen to the employee, FedEx takes care to protect team members' privacy as well as our customers' privacy. We do take this matter extremely seriously, and have initiated action in accord with our disciplinary policy, while respecting privacy concerns. Without going into detail, I can assure you that this courier is not delivering customer packages while we are going through this process...

During our busiest time of the year, we’re not too busy to show our appreciation to the military men and women who serve our country. As part of Trees for Troops, over 17,000 live trees donated by tree growers around the country through the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation are being delivered. Destinations include more than 60 military bases throughout the U.S. and installations in Kuwait, Spain, and Bahrain. Jason Case, a Senior Security Specialist in Columbus, Ohio is one of many FedEx employees who make this program possible by helping at distribution sites.
