A Guided Tour into the World of Small Business

image005.jpg.jpeg Just click submit.

That thought played on a loop in Danny Catullo’s head late one night just over a year ago. Midnight was approaching and he was sure nothing would come of the time he was spending crafting, reviewing and re-wording his story. The story of Catullo Prime Meats - a third generation butcher shop in Youngstown, OH - that he would eventually share with thousands of supporters and a few nameless, faceless reviewers at FedEx who would determine whether he would win one of six FedEx Small Business Grants.

It’s hard for me to imagine Danny struggling to perfect his story as I watch him...

FedEx Meteorologists Deliver… Rain or Shine

Depending on where you are in the world, the holiday season often delivers its own unwanted gift—rough weather. It’s the kind of weather that doesn’t just cause your car to skid. It shuts down roads, leaves you stranded at airports, disrupts large-scale global business, can cost billions of dollars in damages, and sadly, can even cost lives.

This is when the FedEx meteorology team delivers a crucial service—contingency planning. The problems are not new, and they won’t be solved overnight. But it is heartening to know that there are those who are working to make positive changes. Small steps, but steps in the right direction nonetheless.

That’s why it was encouraging and inspiring to be in attendance at the 5th Anniversary celebration of Common Ground Memphis. Attended by about 100 people, young, old, Black, White, Latino, Asian, East Indian – it was as diverse a group as you can get.

Founded by local Memphis newspaper columnist Wendi Thomas, Common Ground was established to create a safe place for people to come together...

Dress for Success wins big at Memphis event

man and woman, DFS event.jpg.jpeg In conjunction with the FedEx 40th Anniversary month of service, dozens of Memphis-based FedEx team members recently participated in a one-day Dress for Success Suit Challenge. Collection sites were set up at the World Headquarters and at the World Tech Center. To add an element of fun, it was promoted as a friendly competition between teams sponsored by two FedEx executives: “Team Laurie” and "Team Dottie". Both Laurie Tucker and Dottie Berry were very happy to serve as honorary team captains.
