For the past several months, I have had the honor to not only work for FedEx, but with the Marines again. Our joint mission: to relocate a retired CH-46 helicopter from the boneyard at the Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ to The Veterans’ Museum in Halls, TN.

...Through its education programs, the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital does a lot more than just cataract surgeries. As the plane is so well equipped we are able to provide a variety of eye-training to the back and front of the eye and the area around the eye.
For example, not long ago we landed in Mongolia and 90% of the nation's ophthalmologists, and a large group of Ulaanbaatar ophthalmic nurses, joined our program over a three week period of time to update their training The entire Mongolian nation will benefit for years because of this one visit! Mongolia has benefited from our visit and we look forward to more of these programs in the future...

...To say that I was grinning ear to ear and full of Memphis pride at the sight of the FedEx logo would be a vast understatement. Thanks to your support the American Red Cross opened or partnered with more than 500 shelters from Puerto Rico to Maine as Irene traveled up the eastern seaboard.
In the aftermath of the storm we continued to serve those communities by opening additional shelters, distributing relief items, and providing emotional support. I had several opportunities to visit our shelters and witness the damage caused by flooding in central and northern New Jersey. My deployment was an amazing experience and I cannot thank you enough for your continued support as our organizations work to serve those that are affected by disasters at home and abroad...

This past Thursday September 8 on the corner of Central Park South and 6th Ave, the Hero Portraits September 11th Memorial was unveiled. It was the culmination of a two year effort on behalf of the Hero Portraits organization led by chairman and founder Darryl Lynn in honor of this year’s 10th anniversary of 9/11. The memorial, a 9 ft high 11ft wide structure in the shape of an American flag, held the portraits of first responders to the attack on the twin towers on September 11th 2001.
