These messages from Trees for Troops recipients will warm your heart

UAE treeslg.jpeg Imagine a smiling group of U.S. soldiers gathered around a Christmas tree that was grown on an American farm and shipped to arrive fresh and green somewhere on the other side of the world, just in time for Christmas. Or, imagine a military spouse and children sharing joyous memories of Christmas through the gift of a free, real Christmas tree while their family member is away serving our country. Trees for Troops makes this vision a reality!

The Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx made this program a reality for the first time in 2005. That year, the program was organized in only 45 days and delivered 4,300 live Christmas trees to families at five military bases in the U.S. and overseas. Now, with the generous help of FedEx, we distribute 16,000-17,000 trees each year.

How we're celebrating education with Teach for America

More than 10,000 Teach For America alumni are leading in the classroom, making teaching the most common profession among our alumni overall.

My team and I work to recognize and honor our teachers while supporting their ongoing professional development through relationships with regional and national organizations. We also seek to build deeper connections with teachers in the broader teaching community to continue the advancement of the profession. For all of these reasons, we are thrilled to team up with FedEx on the launch of the FedEx One Rate Countless Possibilities Through Education campaign...

Likely, there’s a favorite teacher who stands out. Teachers are a guiding force in many young lives, and their tireless efforts can make all the difference.

This holiday season, FedEx is honoring teachers and the difference they make in our schools and communities. With the help of online voters across the U.S., we will be providing supplies and grants to three schools nominated by Teach For America teachers.

Caring for the Common Good: FedEx Cares Week

_P3A4167-sq.jpg I must admit: Before 2005, I was not a United Way donor.

I didn’t understand why I should if I already gave to local agencies in my community. But that year, I participated in the United Way “Loaned Executive” program, a FedEx effort that provides professional talent and leadership to help the United Way’s annual fundraising campaign. During orientation week, I visited more than a dozen nonprofits in the Mid-South that receive support from United Way.

Certainly I was aware of larger organizations with local affiliates, such as American Red Cross, but I didn’t know organizations such as...

Direct Relief…When You Need It Most

Sensaware_TornadoRelief_May13 050-sm.jpg ...Nowhere was this relationship more on display than in the aftermath of the tornado that recently devastated Moore, Oklahoma. Direct Relief promptly jumped into action and, as the only nonprofit licensed to distribute prescription medication in Oklahoma and all other U.S. states, knew that they had to transport needed medications and vaccines into the area quickly, safely and securely.

Many of these specific medications are temperature-sensitive and require specialized cold-chain handling in transit. So, in order to ensure that these commodities were secure from both theft and extreme temperatures, Direct Relief used our SenseAware service offering to manage and monitor this precious cargo en route...
