Thanksgiving is approaching, and as we think about the hearty feast that awaits us, it’s important to celebrate the holiday by not just giving thanks – but showing thanks for what we have. Part of FedEx’s way of showing our thanks is by giving back to the communities in need. For the one out of seven households across the U.S. that is food insecure, Thanksgiving has a deeper meaning.

The New York Stock Exchange recently recognized FedEx and several other companies for corporate giving and support of victims impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Representatives from the companies rang the Closing Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange on Nov. 8.

First, you start with one part Communications with an equal part of Marketing. Next you follow that by adding a heaping of Information Technology (IT), a dash of Human Resources and Customer Service. Then you top it off with some Finance and Operations. You mix all the ingredients together and voilà you have a social business blend. Of course, ingredients and the amounts can vary depending upon the company.
