Our Real Fortune is Our People

FortunePicCollage-sq.png Walk the halls of any FedEx building, and you’ll notice what makes our company unique. It’s easy to visualize what our company leaders often talk about-- that we make up a diverse melting pot of cultures, ethnicities and viewpoints.

FedEx continues to grow thanks to team members whose own experiences give us global perspective, but what’s more fascinating to me is what’s common. The language may be different, but the conversation is often the same. We all speak “purple!” Whether in Memphis, Milan or Mumbai, our 300,000 team members work every day to deliver the Purple Promise, and once again, our efforts have been noticed.

FedEx has been named to the FORTUNE World’s Most Admired Companies list again this year, placing #8 and #1 in the delivery industry!

Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in Atlanta with Stop Hunger Now

MLK16.jpg.jpeg On January 20th, 80 FedEx employees gathered in a warehouse in South Atlanta to package 20,088 meals through Stop Hunger Now, a global humanitarian aid organization aimed at ending hunger worldwide. In just two short hours these employees filled, weighed, sealed, and boxed thousands of bags containing a nutrient-rich mixture of rice, soy, and vegetables.

For those who have never experienced a meal packaging event with Stop Hunger Now, it might come as a shock to hear that it is even possible to put together so many meals in so short a time...

Memories, Joy, Surprise: It’s What We Really Deliver!

But we’re not simply delivering packages—our team members connect people and possibilities around the world. This year we asked them to share with us special holiday memories—something that goes beyond the package and highlights what else we deliver.

In the comments section below, we hope you’ll share your memorable FedEx holiday delivery!...

FedEx Heroes Help Rebuild New Jersey

jerryalvare-fcw2-sq.jpg When I think of the word “Hero” it reminds of leadership, bravery, and selflessness. It reminds me of doing what’s right with no reward and recognition expected. It reminds me of the FedEx Community who banded together as one against the devastation that Hurricane Sandy left New Jersey in on October 22, 2012. The storms 80mph winds and 100mph gusts damaged 346,000 homes, caused 37 deaths, and over $30 billion in damages.

It’s hard to believe it will be a year since the storm. Can you imagine losing your entire home and having to start over again? I know I can’t. I was lucky to only lose power for a few days, but that wasn’t the case for many people affected by the storm...

Atlanta FedEx Volunteers Help Create a Greener Future

10200930047151341.jpg To celebrate FedEx’s 40th Anniversary in Atlanta, FedEx volunteers joined Trees Atlanta to help with tree maintenance in Freedom Park near downtown Atlanta, which is one of the most heavily used green spaces in Atlanta due to the miles of biking and walking trails that weave throughout the park. Trees Atlanta plants thousands of trees each year and maintains them for a minimum of two years in order to give them a better chance to survive long term in the tough urban environment.
