FedEx Among Companies Recognized by NYSE for Hurricane Sandy Relief Support
The New York Stock Exchange recently recognized FedEx and several other companies for corporate giving and support of victims impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Representatives from the companies rang the Closing Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange on Nov. 8.
FedEx was represented by Bill Bonneau, manager, Station Operations, FedEx Express. (On far right in the photo.) Bonneau was requested by name by New York. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s office to work directly with them in the aftermath of the storm to help direct the logistics of delivering aid quickly and efficiently across the state of New York. He worked around the clock to coordinate the deliveries of MREs, generators, water, and other much needed aid to the areas that needed it most.
FedEx has committed nearly $1.5 million in cash and in-kind transportation to support Hurricane Sandy relief efforts across the northeast corridor of the United States. FedEx is providing monetary or in-kind transportation support to the following relief organizations to assist with their relief efforts: The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Heart to Heart International, Direct Relief International and the United Way. This support allows these agencies to provide humanitarian relief to the hurricane victims, including food, shelter, clothing, medical supplies, and hygiene kits.
