While New Year’s signals fresh resolutions for the majority of us, for kids (and their parents), fall and the beginning of a new school year is the time to commit to starting off the year right. Diligence in studying or completing homework is a common goal, but also other activities such as learning a new musical instrument or playing a team sport become greater priorities.

On October 5, millions of children around the world participated in International Walk to School Day (IWTSD), an annual event that raises awareness among local communities of the benefits of healthy, safe and walkable neighborhoods for school children. FedEx, a longtime supporter of Safe Kids, has teamed up with the non-profit organization to create the “Walk This Way” program and participate in IWTSD events around the world.
Child pedestrian safety is a critical global issue and one that is especially close to the hearts of FedEx team members. To drive safety awareness, Safe Kids and FedEx capitalized on its global network of coalitions and team members to support IWTSD, all of which played a role in making the cause a true worldwide effort.
