Relief for Typhoon Haiyan victims – a personal perspective

...On the personal side, I had family members who lived in the direct path of Haiyan. During the storm and for days afterward, there was no word about these family members, but it turns out we were among the lucky ones. Everyone was safe and sound. But my heart still goes out to so many others in my country who were not so lucky, and are still suffering today....

Making childbirth safer for Tanzania’s women

You might remember the 2012 blog post about how FedEx supported a maternity ward at a hospital in Tanzania. I am the coordinator of this project on behalf of the German medical charity action medeor, one of Europe’s largest such organizations.

This summer I had the opportunity to visit the ward and see for myself with my own eyes the great progress that has been made so far. I am now delighted to report back to you...

FedEx Helps to Deliver a Healthier Future with Food & Friends for the Washington, D.C. Community

40th Anniversary Washington DC Group Photo.jpg Recently, nearly 30 FedEx volunteers joined Food & Friends in Washington, D.C. to celebrate FedEx’s “40 years of delivering a better future.” Through their nearly 90 hours of volunteer service that day, the volunteers were also able to ensure Food & Friends could keep our promise of providing specialized nutritious meals to our clients living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses. The helping hands and willing hearts of FedEx staff prepared and packed over 2,500 client meals including chopping 150 pounds of cabbage!

FedEx Teams Up With the Washington Redskins to Deliver Thanksgiving Dinner at FedExField

For the eighth year, FedEx volunteers will team up with the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Operation Blessing to sort and package 45,500 pounds of frozen turkey and 110,000 pounds of fresh and canned produce for distribution at Harvest Feast. This annual event at FedExField distributes frozen turkeys and groceries to help local families celebrate Thanksgiving.
