FedEx Ground Celebrates Entrepreneurs

Did you know that FedEx Ground partners with more than 8,500 small businesses throughout North America to pick up and deliver our packages?

These businesses are owned and operated by independent entrepreneurs who manage every aspect of the business, including hiring employees, owning their trucks, and organizing their routes. We are proud to partner with these entrepreneurs who are growing their businesses alongside FedEx Ground and helping us ensure that every experience is a positive one. This is why we take a step back every year, pausing to celebrate all we have accomplished together.

Since 2007, FedEx Ground has annually bestowed its Entrepreneur of the Year award – one of our company’s highest honors – to three outstanding business owners in our network, recognizing them for business growth and development, customer service, safety, community involvement, and business ethics...

For those who see rescuing someone from a burning house as just another day on the job...

This holiday season, I give special thanks to FedEx, for keeping the People First and honoring those purple-blooded team members that truly love this company, their jobs, and those in their community!

On October 28, 2010, FedEx Express honored 26 employees for their above and beyond service to FedEx and the community. Eleven employees received the Purple Promise Award and 15 received the Humanitarian Award.

Heroes On and Off the Job

During the holiday season I often hear stories about outstanding efforts our employees make on behalf of customers. When recognized for their effort, most say “I was just doing my job.” That reaction is understandable because a commitment to going above and beyond for our customers is simply what we do. What is not required or expected, but evident every day, are the numerous ways employees reach out to help one another as well as strangers.
