Puppy Love - Abused Puppies Rescued with Help of FedEx

The staff that run our FedEx Animal Desk work the logistics on a daily basis. It seems like Lydia Petropoulus and Carolyn Frisch know more about how to do this right than anyone in the business. On the charitable shipping side, I work with them on rescue type situations when we feel it is appropriate.

A gift for Freedom Service Dogs

freedomservicedogs.png Judy McMillan, from FedEx in Denver, wrote to our department to see if we could help in moving donated Purina pet foods for Freedom Services Dogs. It is within the city of Denver and the shelter did not have the capability of picking up the food, so FedEx came to the rescue. Here is Judy's thank you:

FedEx Ground Assists Four-Legged Flood Victims

On August 4, 2009, Louisville, Ky., posted new records for the city, but not ones anyone was striving to achieve. On that day, the city and surrounding areas were drenched with record-setting rain fall, flooding homes, cars and public buildings.Without an ark to rescue them, more than 500 dogs, cats and other animals at Metro Animal Services, were evacuated to drier grounds of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition. Sadly, 11 animals died when the facility was flooded.
