FedEx elves join Jerry Rice in helping those in need

Over 40 FedEx elves joined in the fun at the 14th Annual Jerry Rice toy drive and holiday festival. Thousands of toys were collected that will benefit 15 different children’s charities all around the Bay Area including Children’s Hospital Oakland and Shelter Network of San Mateo County.

Guests at the event were encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy and in return they got a chance to visit with Rice and receive a complimentary souvenir photo. FedEx elves worked the Santa photo booth, taking pictures and printing them in frames. In addition, they delivered toys to some of the agencies in the Special Delivery truck.

Jerry Rice is widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver ever and one of the greatest players in NFL history, consistently showing exceptional performance and strong work ethic on and off of the field. In addition to being the all-time leader in every major statistical category for wide receivers, Rice was selected to the Pro Bowl 13 times (1986–1996, 1998, 2002) and named All-Pro 10 times in his 20 NFL seasons. He won three Super Bowl rings as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, (1985–2000) and an AFC Championship with the Oakland Raiders (2001–2004)

In 1994, Rice established the 127 Foundation. It supports organizations such as the March of Dimes, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and the Omega Boys Club in San Francisco.
