It's a Matter of Trust - Having a Safe Holiday Driving Season

master_dm_13_004_02_06_01_045_160-110-2_jpg.jpg FedEx is in the midst of its busiest time of the year – the holiday shipping season starting with Black Friday and continuing with Cyber Monday and all the way up to Christmas Day. We call it Peak. And yes, it’s capitalized because it is that significant to our business. While it is the time of year when we have the most packages to deliver, it is often combined with the worst weather conditions.

Between all the FedEx operating companies, there are tens of thousands of vehicles on the roads every day. In fact, there probably is not a minute in the 1,440 in a day when there is not a FedEx vehicle on a road somewhere in the U.S.

How we're celebrating education with Teach for America

playground_0299_155064068_155064069_165857251.jpg.jpeg As Vice President of Alumni Teaching Leadership for Teach For America, I see the passion and commitment to expanding educational opportunities for students among our alumni and their colleagues each day. More than 10,000 Teach For America alumni are leading in the classroom, making teaching the most common profession among our alumni overall.

My team and I work to recognize and honor our teachers while supporting their ongoing professional development through relationships with regional and national organizations. We also seek to build deeper connections with teachers in the broader teaching community to continue the advancement of the profession. For all of these reasons, we are thrilled to team up with FedEx on the launch of the FedEx One Rate Countless Possibilities Through Education campaign...

This year we asked them to share with us special holiday memories—something that goes beyond the package and highlights what else we deliver.

Get ready for the (next) Asian trade revolution

Picture_1.jpg.jpeg When I moved to Asia in 1994, the most common shipment was electronics.

Think big and expensive. The first, mass-produced PCs were spreading like wildfire, and innovations like the “personal communicator” – dubbed “bricks” due to their size and weight – were starting to take off.

I vividly remember those days. Around five years earlier, I’d been involved in the FedEx purchase of Asia’s Flying Tigers airlines, which as far back as the 1940s was known by its tagline – “We haul anything anywhere.” It was a critical acquisition for us because it gave us the air rights and the authority to connect Asia globally.

But there was a much different tiger on the scene by the time...

It’s the time of year when people are shopping and shipping at breakneck pace, determined to find the perfect gifts for their family and friends as the days before Christmas dwindle.

Whether it’s a package ordered from a favorite online store, or a gift shipped to or from friends and family across the country, each box we deliver is important to FedEx and our customers. Relief for Typhoon Haiyan victims – a personal perspective

Bogo, Cebu Delivery, Pic 2edited.jpg (Note – FedEx team member Vernice Hunt is onsite in Cebu City in the Philippines to chronicle the FedEx delivery of emergency medical supplies for Direct Relief and Heart to Heart International.)

...On the personal side, I had family members who lived in the direct path of Haiyan. During the storm and for days afterward, there was no word about these family members, but it turns out we were among the lucky ones. Everyone was safe and sound. But my heart still goes out to so many others in my country who were not so lucky, and are still suffering today....

Your Busiest Day Powers Our Busiest Day: Celebrating Small Businesses

While most of us are sound asleep, Julie Campbell hammers away in the garage of her California home. She’s not tuning up her car, rather fine tuning her passion—creating the intricate details that take shape in her one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Five years ago, the self-taught designer turned a crafting hobby into juliethefish designs, introducing many of us to the concept of “hand stamped” jewelry. Today, Campbell’s hands are stamping more than ever. She expects to do more holiday business she did last year, as her jewelry continues to reach new fans from England to Italy to Australia...

Likely, there’s a favorite teacher who stands out. Teachers are a guiding force in many young lives, and their tireless efforts can make all the difference.

This holiday season, FedEx is honoring teachers and the difference they make in our schools and communities. With the help of online voters across the U.S., we will be providing supplies and grants to three schools nominated by Teach For America teachers.

By simply watching the five submission videos...
