Meet Hannah, Namesake of the First FedEx Express 767F

FedEx Express has a long tradition of naming planes after the children of employees. For more than 30 years, every trunk plane in the FedEx fleet has been named after an employee’s child via drawing and the child’s name is painted prominently on the front of each aircraft.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund: Helping make college dreams come true

HSF event photo.png
Did you know that Hispanics now make up 25% of public high school students in the U.S.? Or that despite the fact that only 14.5% of Hispanics aged 25 or older currently hold a bachelor’s degree, the share of Hispanic high school graduates enrolled in college reached an all-time high in 2012? In fact, that same year, high school drop-outs among this group reached an all-time low.

Lighten Up This Halloween

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, twice as many children are hit and killed walking on Halloween than any other day of the year. It’s also a problem that’s easy to fix, which is why Safe Kids and FedEx are teaming up this Halloween. This year, we want every child to be wearing something reflective or bright so they will be seen by drivers on Halloween. There are lots of ways to make it happen. Kids can carry a flashlight or glow stick, wear light-colored costumes or attach reflective wristbands or tape to their outfit.

[Video] I am FedEx: Classical dance from India

I just don’t love dance but I respect dance. It allows someone to keep their body and mind free and fresh without focusing time on gym, diet and so on. When I go for dance class I really forget what the rest of the world is doing. It's just simply tap your feet and move your body as the music goes. Dance helps to make your mind fresh; after performing one feels so relaxed from deep inside...

Change a light bulb. Make a difference.

EX0201.preview.jpg I recently sat down with Don Colvin, U.S. VP of facilities at FedEx Express, to hear what it takes to sustainably manage 52 million square feet of space.

Q. The Solar Energy Industries Association just announced their top 25 corporate solar users and FedEx is on the list again. Can you tell me how solar fits into your overall sustainability strategy?

A. The Oakland hub was the first FedEx solar property to come online back in 2005. Now we have nine across all of FedEx with a total capacity to power a small community for a year...

Introducing Predictability with FedEx One Rate

FedEx One Rate Flat Rate Shipping Boxes.jpg Let’s face it – we could all use a little more predictability in our lives. #eCommerce changes the way we deliver for you @FedEx

raj-blog-image.png Meet Allison. Five years ago, when Allison wanted to buy a costume, she would drive to the mall, take a look at the options, and then buy one. Today, she doesn’t even have to leave the comforts of her couch. If she sees a costume she wants on TV, she pulls out her smartphone, compares reviews & prices, and orders it to be delivered to her house for her Halloween party – all within a commercial break of her favorite show.

E-commerce has truly changed the way we shop. Online sales are growing more than three times faster than traditional brick-and-mortar sales. Smartphones (like Allison’s) & tablets account for 11 percent of online transactions. By 2017, one out of every four online transactions will be done on a mobile device.

Every day, people are also changing how and when they want their packages delivered. They want convenience, simplicity, predictability and options when shopping online. Businesses have to adjust to fit this new demand.

You changed how you want it; we changed how we deliver it...
