On March 25, 2013 the Toronto Zoo welcomes two giant pandas as part of a new giant panda conservation initiative that they entered into with China in February 2012. Daffodil Days has become synonymous with a message of hope and courage—and for the 16th straight year, FedEx is helping the American Cancer Society deliver this message. Messages are not all that will be delivered. FedEx Express and Ground team members will help prepare, package and deliver millions of daffodil blooms to donors and cancer patients in dozens of cities across nine states nationwide, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Boston and Philadelphia.

Speedy Support from FedEx for Sandy Relief Gets Big Thank You from Direct Relief

Earlier this month I participated in the Partners for Quality Medical Donations (PQMD) conference sponsored by FedEx and hosted by Direct Relief. Direct Relief is one of four major relief organizations with which FedEx works year round. They are the only NGO licensed to distribute pharmaceuticals in all 50 US States. Pharmaceutical companies donate product to them and they use the products to help a network of more than a thousand health clinics serve disadvantaged people across the US. They also provide medicines and medical supplies to NGOs around the world.

FedEx Helps with Preparations and Delivery of Baskets for Hundreds of Hospitalized Children

In the midst of Super Bowl XLVII weekend excitement in New Orleans, FedEx volunteers joined a group of nearly 100 volunteers, along with some of the New Orleans Saints players, at De Salle High School in support of the 2nd Annual Super Basket of Hope to help fill 250 baskets and totes with gifts for hospitalized children and their parents. This event was hosted by Basket of Hope, created in 1995, that provides gift baskets and hope totes to children diagnosed with cancer or other serious illnesses.

Revising Another FedEx Sustainability Goal

Munich Likes You

I´m sure most of you have already heard of the “Oktoberfest” that takes place in Munich each year. In October 2012 however, there was another reason to celebrate as FedEx started operating a B777F out of Munich airport. Since the beginning of October, the state-of-the-art aircraft has been flying four times a week from Munich to Memphis via Milan, Italy. With this flight, FedEx offers the fastest connectivity from Munich to the U.S. – including next-day delivery to 99% of the U.S. for shipments originating in the Munich region.
