FedEx Annual Report 2011: Transportation meets transformation.

When you think about it, FedEx is more than a transportation business. We’re in the transformation business, making a positive difference in people’s lives every day. Imagine this scenario, which is now reality, thanks to innovative FedEx solutions.

As a patient waits for a spinal implant, a Kansas City surgical team and a spinal implant company collaboratively monitor the implant shipment’s temperature, light exposure and location all the way to the operating room. A SenseAwareSM device, developed by FedEx and placed in the implant shipment, is a first-of-its-kind sensor-based information sharing service.

Dear Mr. Smith, Your blog regarding the "transformation business" really reinforces my exact thoughts at this exact time. I was reviewing in my mind just before I read your blog something that happened to me. Many well meaning people, even people who love me said, "you'll never find what you're looking for in an employer." With all due respect to all of them, they were wrong. I joined your company on January 16, 2012. My background is not just 29 years of sales, but a lifetime of serving people. I am so in my element in FTB. I recently shared my heart to those in the ELT that for years I danced and dodged the promoted unethical SOP's. Actually it motivated me on daily basis to achieve my sales and service goals without following the promoted "tell them anything" approach. Yet, I always dreamed of representing and promoting a company that held my same customer relationship belief system. I found it Mr. Smith, I repeat..."I FOUND IT" ,here at FedEx. Maybe someday I'll meet you and thank you personally. Regardless, thank you again for this dream come true opportunity. Lastly, my heart goes out to you and your family regarding your daughter. Our family unfortunately relates to the deep pain of losing a child. We lost our Ron John in March 1998. We will see him again someday. May God continue to bless you as you "tranform" lives around the world. Sincerely, Mark Yacovazzi and family.
